Women of Steel Talks: Engineering with Zoe Laughlin & Carol Morris

Past Events

Join us for an evening of talks focusing on the role of women in engineering. At 6pm on Thursday the 19th January we’ll be joined by Carol Morris, the Deputy Head of the School of Engineering and Innovation at The Open University and Zoe Laughlin the founder/director of the Institute of MakingĀ and the Materials Library project.

Carol has been associated with the Open University since 1982. Her main interest is encouraging women to study and work in engineering. Zoe works at the interface of the science, art, craft and design of materials.

Zoe currently features on the Big Life Fix, a new BBC2 three-part series following a group of designers, engineers, programmers and tech experts as they face the challenge of coming up with interventions that will transform the lives of people all over the UK. We’d love for you to join us afterwards for a chat and a glass of wine.
