Penny Withers work ‘Scale‘ will be exhibited as the final exhibition in the first the Ways of Making series at Yorkshire Artspace.
Drawing inspiration from the rock formations of the surrounding Peak District, ceramicist and Yorkshire Artspace studio holder Penny Withers has created a new body of work which experiments with making larger pieces, playing with scale and with the physicality of building large sectional pieces. Penny has worked with local climbers to find out more about the intricate surface details on rocky outcrops such as Stannage and Curbar Edge, and this collaboration has brought elements of these forms directly into her work.
Yorkshire Artspace are currently inviting applications for their second Ways of Making exhibition series. Find further information here.
