Off the Shelf

Phlegm / Off the Shelf

Off the shelf is one if the largest literary festivals in the UK and tickets are now on sale for a mix of online and live events including Simon Armitage, Otis Mensah and Ian MacMillan.

The opening weekend is book-ended by a live conversation with Lee Child and a poetry drive-in with the Poet Laureate Simon Armitage who has been commissioned by the festival to write new poetry inspired by Ted Hughes’ time living in Mexborough.

New this year is a strand of events celebrating black women’s voices, Black Women Write Now, curated by Sheffield writer Désirée Reynolds. Several Dutch writers and illustrators will also feature in the festival – supported through a collaboration with the Dutch Literature Foundation. Finally, check out friendly fun events every afternoon during October half-term!
