The Learn, Create, Sell (LCS) Project is a partnership between the University’s Enterprise Team and SHU graduate Zak Ahmed, the owner of AALFY, a local social enterprise.
The target audience is twofold: current students from across the University who want to develop a commercial product involving digital fabrication, and adults in the most deprived areas of Sheffield who need to develop enterprise skills and gain practical experience.
The project will use an adapted version of AALFY’s established Learn, Create, Sell (LCS) programme, which enables participants to prototype ideas using digital fabrication. The participants work in collaboration with partner organisations, including design and marketing agencies and retailers, to develop a commercial product which is then sold at different outlets.
In a unique final stage, the students will support and mentor makers from Pitsmoor, Burngreave, Page Hall and Darnall.
