Mandy Payne has had her painting ‘Remnants of a Welfare State’ selected for the John Moore’s Painting Prize 2020.
The John Moore Painting Prize brings together the best in contemporary British painting right now. Supporting artists from all over the UK – whether they’re undiscovered, emerging or established in their careers – the prize provides a platform for artists to inspire, disrupt and challenge the British painting art scene today.
The competition will culminate in exhibition held at the Walker Art Gallery on 12 February 2021, running until 27 June 2021.
67 paintings have been chosen from over 3000 entries, with selection happening online for the first time. The names of the five prizewinning artists will be announced just before the exhibition and first prize winner and the Emerging Artist Prize announced at the opening.
