We would like to invite your participation in a seminar on the use of colour in contemporary metalwork and jewellery.

Influential metalwork practitioners Simone ten Hompel and Adi Toch will deliver talks on their metalwork practice with a focus on the use of colour, process and materials in their work.

Dr Cóilín Ó Dubhghaill will give a presentation on research into the use of colour in contemporary metalwork and jewellery: What is the value of colour in metalwork? Where is the current innovative practice in the use of colour in metal? What is the broader context for such practice? How can we support knowledge transfer in this area?

Adi Toch is a lecturer at London Metropolitan University and a visiting lecturer at Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem www.aditoch.com

Dr Cóilín Ó Dubhghaill is Senior Research Fellow in the Art and Design Research Centre at Sheffield Hallam University www.coilin.com

The event will be chaired by independent exhibition curator Sara Roberts sararobertsblog.wordpress.com

This event is funded by Arts Council England and the Art and Design Research Centre at Sheffield Hallam University. The event will be audio recorded as part of research by Sara Roberts and Dr Cóilín Ó Dubhghaill towards an exhibition and symposium examining innovative practice and information exchanges in metal coloration techniques.
