Making Ways

Sheffield Creative Guild are delighted to be coordinating the recruitment of the Making Ways Artist Panel. Led by Sheffield Culture Consortium, Making Ways is a three-year project, funded by Arts Council England that will demonstrate, celebrate and develop exceptional contemporary visual art produced in Sheffield. The project will stimulate and support the development of artistic talent and leadership by building the profile of the artistic community, brokering relationships with business and industry and developing a living economy that will stimulate and support growth.
Key to the successful development of Making Ways is the strategic input of artists at different stages of their careers based in Sheffield.  Therefore, Sheffield Culture Consortium seek to recruit an Artist Panel comprising of approximately eight Sheffield based visual artists. The panel will work closely with a Steering Group, made up of individuals from cultural and visual art organisations in the city, to shape and develop the programme project.

This is a paid position and a great opportunity for visual artists to have their voice heard and have an impact on visual art and artists in the city. Artists will be paid £200 a day on a freelance basis and will initially meet for half a day a month, however as the project develops, the time commitment will increase and decrease as necessary.
We are looking for visual artists at different stages of their career who are interested in being part of the team that inform how Making Ways will make a difference.  To apply please send an expression of interest of no more than 500 words to by Monday 19th December, 5pm. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a recruitment workshop w/c 23rd January and the panel will be in place for February 2017.
Please note, being part of the Artist Panel will not affect your ability to apply for other opportunities as part of the Making Ways programme.
