“The visual arts help us to understand who we are and to share that experience with others across time and place. At a time when our world feels fractured, we need this more than ever.”

– Penny McCarthy, artist and lecturer

Making Our Way is an ambition for visual arts in Sheffield, published in 2019 and lasting until 2024. It is a legacy of Sheffield Culture Consortium’s Ambition for Excellence project Making Ways, and was developed by artists, curators, writers and organisations small and large under the guidance of the Making Ways Steering Group.

Following an open call for applications, Sheffield’s Visual Art Panel was established to help implement this vision and monitor its progress. They have met once a month since August 2020 and the minutes of these meetings can be found here.
